Wheelsuck Posted January 28, 2010 Share I wear orthotics as i Pronate, so would maybe look at XT wings without my orthotics. Pietrman who got me into this recommeded them. So Salomon seems the way to go. thanks Bos for cautioning on using them on the Road I was gonna do that.
ChrisH Posted January 28, 2010 Share <snip>Agree with Boss' date=' ditch the T-Shirt and even the medal or give us a choice and if we want shirts and medals then we pay extra.<snip> [/quote'] No medals at X-Terra Grabouw. Last year as you crossed the line you were given a Go-Multi magazine.

Stillwater Posted January 28, 2010 Share I read with interest some of the comments made about the price of Xterra. Allow me to state some event facts on behalf of Xterra in SA: - although Nissan was replaced by a new sponsor in 2010, the entry fee has remained the same since the start of the 2008/2009 season. - the entry fee for Xterra Grabouw is R130 and not R230 and the entry fee will only switch to the late entry fee if you enter after the closing date of 15th feb, which is a mere 5 days before the Grabouw event - we want Xterra to be a fun unique family value for money experience - so if you go to Buffelspoort or Grabouw, you will receive an event tee, New Balance race belt, medal, Duesouth socks, Rehidrat sachets, armband, waterbottle and swimcap. In addition you can relax in the Rehidrat recovery zone, with free massages, recovery drinks, ice baths and snacks, fruit and sugar drinks - in addition if you arrive early you can enjoy a free Bokomo breakfast in the Bokomo breakfast zone - this is all on top of the event organization which we believe stands above all other off-road events in terms of organization - we also believe that the value that you get at Xterra compares very well to what is offered at similiar events in similiar disciplines - Ironman, Mtb races and other "smaller" triathlon events. Especially with Ironman ect, our entry fee is a fraction of those events We strive to improve every year and obviously there is always room for improvement. But we believe that Xterra is consistently offering a better value for money experience year after year. The numbers show it with the field in Buffels looking like it will double from 2009. Hope this gives you some background, and hope to see you all in Buffelspoort or Grabouw.

Shebeen Posted January 28, 2010 Share I read with interest some of the comments made about the price of Xterra. Allow me to state some event facts on behalf of Xterra in SA: - Great to have race organisers answering questions here. so the late entry fee date is 5 days before, maybe it's a good idea to put that on the site so joe public knows it too. Will the reg be at grand westin like totalsports?that was sooooo much better than lord chuck and i think your phones will ring less with people wondering why they have to travel to the wild west two days before an event, which is on a marked(sometimes) course anyway. Justin Posted January 29, 2010 Share @Stillwater, thanks for the reply. I wish however that races stop giving stupid handouts and working it into the price. People arriving at a triathlon already have swim caps, water bottles (I probably have a cupboard full of bottles) and tees (another cupboard). If you subtract that R100 (bottles/tees/caps costs) from the late entry you are back at R130 which is very reasonable. Stillwater, can't we make them selectable options?Justin2010-01-29 00:36:

Not if you are a loyal subscriber it isn't. Anyway Stillwater said in his reply that you DO get a medal at Xterra so one of us is telling pork pies.
