ChrisH: Well spotted!

KonaFan: I think Muldersdrift is still Gauteng.

We cycle that route on a regular basis. I think cyclists are the majority users (compared to motorists) of that road on a sunday. Perhaps that's why some cyclists feel they have the road to themselves. But everytime a car approached, we single filed and moved over to the left.

Daardie tipe foto kan inwoners opsweep in 'n haat vir fietsryers. Not cool!

This article is really sad, I cycle this area every Saturday and Sunday and have never had any similar problems. I know the cycle lab clubs guys use the cradle for the regular training and possibly the sizes of the bunches could be causing a traffic issue.

But if they want to target the cyclists in the area, what about the folks on the motorbikes flying through like it is a race track....

I think that is handle full of idiots that are most likely also the ones that never bother to say hi to the fellow riders out there causing this pain.

Grief.............one would have expected the newspaper to have some kind of journalism ethical code and not publish pictures which are clearly not local or relevant to the problem in the area.

One has to wonder as too the intentions of the author.?

Best not to get heated by some very poor journalism.

There were no blows and well done for folk spotting that the pics were irrelevant to the non-story.

It's easy to get someone to say I don't like x, then go to x and say y says they don't like you what do you say to that?

And then you get a 26 episode saga of drama and unhappiness filling newspaper column inches.

Much better we all go down to M'Drift and break some windows so there's something specific to talk about*.

The good point to come out is giving notice to residents of race routes and times - I hope that can be followed through.

Apologies, my New South African geography really sucks. Muldersdrift is in gauteng. I just happened to have picked up the article in a town near HArties in NW.
