Today during my ride, my rear caliper decided that it wasn't going to retract anymore and the pads locked onto the rotor... So we stopped and tried to force the pistons back with a little success but then it happened again a few km later. Eventually decided to stop pulling the back brake for the rest of the ride, but it STILL locked up... any ideas?

And no, the lever was not pulled while the wheel was off the bike.

The brakes are avid juicy carbons.

Please help me!

Pads probably worn... so pistons coming out more than they should to compensate for the wear. Try replacing the pads, even if they look like they still have some life left in them...

fluctuations in temperature i think

Is that possible? If so I think you might have hit the nail on the head. My bike was on the rack for about 30min before the ride and it was very hot today.

Juicy's should only be bled with dot 4 or dot 5.1 ' date='if your shop used something else that is not easy on the rubbers this could be the problem.[/quote']

I bought the bike 2nd hand and I've done about 1000km on it and it hasn't ever been to the shop or bled at all. Could it take so long to mess the seals up?
