WHICH ONE IS BETTERLOOK KEO 2 MAX OR DURA ACE 7810

The 7800 are the narrow ones with the plastic contact patch right? Well I would go for the DA just because it's made from metal. The Looks will be quite lighter.

Well, I've gone through a pair of Keo Sprints in a year as the plastic contact area just wore out.  I hope the new metal plate helps with durability, but I think parabat has a point.

 

Not sure what to replce my Keo's with, but I'm seriously considerng Speedplay, but I wat to find out about wearof their cleats first.

Well, I've gone through 2 pairs of Keo clasics in 1 year not good and when i complain at mr look i got no positive answer.

Well, I've gone through 2 pairs of Keo clasics in 1 year not good and when i complain at mr look i got no positive answer.

I really like the look of the keo max 2 and was keen to get a pair.

After reading the link Mr Look posted on another thread, I am starting to have my doubts. These Dura ace pedals must be very good if lance had persisted using them all these years.

 

Why would a legendary weight weenie like lance use pedals which have always been heavier than the competitors, if they did not have amazing performance.

 

I think he just wants to be able to jump on a teammates bike so he does not end up being stranded like Cadel was with a flat on the mountain in the tour.

 

I will probably just get me the sh*tmano pedals since  dont have a team of biomechanics to asssist me with the transistion.

 

CWCCYCLES have the duraace pedals 7810 for sale at R1550 which is on par with CRC and way cheaper than other shops. And I can go get them tommorrow

I'm not sure how the article on the previous page came to the conclusion that the KEO Max has the biggest surface area in the test? It's less than the  TIME RXS and the Speedplay!

 

From the article, the TIME RXS and Speedplay are the top pedal to have.

 

The KEO certainly fairs better than the Dura Ace which is relevant to this discussion.
