[/quote'] scotty, i do it at least once a week - on a friday - when i've got a car. mostly on the other days i have littlies to pick up from school, but they've got busier social calendars than me, so i often squeeze in another ride or two. it's actually a safe and easy route. i live in western extension, so it's along the lake club, onto north rand road past the mall and right at pretoria road. i cross the n12 on the barbara road bridge then turn right onto the road that runs alongside the highway (north reef, i think) which becomes van buuren. i cross the n3 via nicol and then it's past eastgate and through kensington and onto commisioner. it works out to be about 32km. i usually manage it in just over an hour on the road bike. holy roller2007-06-28 01:03:00

Tumbleweed Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 scotty, the cool thing is, you can vary it on the way home if you got time. take fisher's (sound like vicious) hill and head link up again on the other side of primrose, or turn left onto jet park road and go round the airport and down atlas road (just keep an eye out for taxis stopping in the emergency lane)
scotty Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Thanks will try a few trial runs in the car. I will most likely do it on my Hybrid or MTB as i dont trust all the cr$p lying on the roads.
