AndreZA Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 plus you can watch the BULLS winning the Super 14 again I'm not subscribing for 5 years just to see that again.
Persona Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I asked myself the question How many hours a week do I watch something on DSTV and it comes to 10 hours a month so it cost about R50/hour watching TV I think its expensive and rather cancel my DSTV services
tmstiles Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 See, now if more people had to do that they would have no option but to reduce the costs or at least make the packages more flexible.
ASTANA Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 The wife is paying for our DSTV but it is money well spent. Paris-Nice starts live on Sunday on SS guys' date=' plus you can watch the BULLS winning the Super 14 again [/quote'] yes for paris - nice nofor the bulls game... rather watch the french win the 6 nations either way - its worth it to have something to watch now and again. People spend much more on there stuff than what we (DSTV owners) do, some have the extra cash to live large and have dstv no hassels. if your're someone with a tight budget you can either have dstv if you want to watch sports etc etc, or you can stop spending money on eating out all the time or taking long weekends away from home every weekend of the month - in the end you';ll be amazed at how easili you can save up R500 bucks. Yeah its not all good all the time - too many adds and repeats etc, but there is always something to watch. Not a fan of the increase, just saying.
Speed Devil Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I switched over to DSTV last year because I got gatvol of all the soccer on SABC, and it's just getting worse as we get closer to the SWC. I was also tired of watching programmes in a language that I do not understand. In the very near future SABC is going to switch over to a digital signal and we are then going to have to pay for decoders and whatever else. I don't see why I have to pay for all that to get a digital signal to watch crap. When SABC goes digital I will cancel my SABC subs, as DSTV pays a portion of our subs over to SABC in any case. I feel that R529 is still a bargain, as I can change to any other sport channel if I don't want to watch a specific sport. There is also all nat geo, nat geo wild, and all the other exciting channels to keep me entertained when I can't sleep at night. As for repeats, they only repeat programmes that have been shown earlier in the month....NOT COMPLETE SERIES/SEASONS FROM 2 YEARS AGO. Somehow that was SABC contingency plan when the broadcast industry went on strike last year, and we are still watching those series. The SABC is so financially f'ked that I don't think they will showing anything new or any other sport besides soccer for at least the next five years.
