orbeaorca Posted March 14, 2010 Share Had a stunning 1st ride with my son on tandem. We did a 505. You had to see the delight on his face at the finish. More so than at the Bar one stop where I had to drag him away. It was a tough ride though, as he is a slave driver and the upwards pointing saddle accounted for the burning groin pain.My best Argus to dateWell done to all. Lucky Luke. Posted March 14, 2010 Share Results are up! 3:03:24 - I was aiming for top 200 and managed 163 so quite happy with that despite the slow time. Second lap was more fun, unofficially 4:26 for that one. I arrived back at the start around 10:15 in time to see the back of the very last bunch pootling on to the Eastern Boulevard onramp. Had a quick break at home in Kalk Bay for a shake and some biltong too. Nice to be able to get off your bike at the Argus and not worry about getting dropped. I think I saw at least 8 people fall off randomly for no apparent reason.

jmjk Posted March 15, 2010 Share Well done, Luke, must be that awesome BH you rode that helped a little. . . . You guys dropped me halfway up Chappies, but I managed to do a 3.08.04, finished in 302nd place, good enough for me for only being back on the bike for 18 months. Lucky Luke. Posted March 15, 2010 Share Hey nice going Johan, we missed your shouting on Suikerbossie - Heimer must have been flying up there at around 25 or more. The front guys put about 30 seconds into us there and we had to chase back until Camps Bay.

jmjk Posted March 15, 2010 Share Thanks, Luke, when I hit suikerbossie with MC, all we could do is pray to get over that climb, I didn`t have any energy left for shouting, once we got to Camps Bay Andrew McLean came past, so we hooked on his wheel, then I had energy again for shouting, I think he was laughing at my jokes as I was screaming: trap Andrew, trap, ons gaan saam met jou oppie TV wees!!!, he looked around with quite a big smile on his face and pulled us all the way to the finishline - THANKS, Andrew!!
