Okay, so i posted this hectic statement below. 199 hubbers online and 160 guests. only 9 hibbers stood up for what they believed in, after i got cheeky with them I still only had a few more comebacks. My point is that someone can say something with some sense and then say something unreasonable and yet 9 out of 199 people stood up. If cycling is going to go forward we need more people to stand up other wise its a waste of time.

What i did is the same as cycling without a helmet yet only a few will say something. WHY?

A group of people who ride their bikes call themselves cyclists and

demand safety and responsible driving while they are out on their

bicycles. BUT when they are not on their bicycles then its fine for

everyone to drive however they want including themselves. These selfish

dimwits are called roadies.

On Sunday, while driving into Cape town so i could ride the

awareness ride to make a statement for safer cycling in our beloved

country i was over taken at high speeds with vehicles who had bicycles

attached.

1 person had visible number plates and lights while the

other 15 had bikes flapping on the back of their cars. During the actual

event and at the end I saw many cyclists talking and cycling at the

same time while on their cell phones. You cannot scream for safer

cycling conditions and then break all the laws. This elitist behaviour

has to stop before anyone will take notice of the true cyclists calls

for a safer journey to work.

So my opinion is that more cyclists need to be taken out by cars should choose their fights better and not sit on both sides of the fence when it suites them.

Yay - lets all wish death on people - that'll teach those idiot cyclists talking on their cell phones. Their families will flock to you to thank you for opening their eyes to their spouses evil ways and granting them sufficient punishment for their wicked crimes. They'll also thank for your allowing them the benefit of their spouses insurance funds. Granted you'll probably have to help their children build fires and climb trees and bake cookies because their father/mother is dead but as long as you think you're doing the right by wishing death upon your fellow man you'll put up with the major inconvenience.

In closing I'd like to add: You're a cock.

Cry Not everyone out there is like this - I'm roadie and MTB'er - love both aspects and safety starts with yourself. If you havn't had anyone close to you killed by irresponsible and drunk drivers while cycling, then I ask you to shut the F up. Your above statement is just stupid - NOBODYAngry

*** timing on wishing death to cyclist - as only a week or so ago 4 people died! Ouch

what he should have said is that its amazing that not more people get killed or hurt while out cycling - the way some people ride and the way some people drive.

It reads, types, copies AND pastes? Genius alert.

Go on - stretch yourself and call me a name. You can do it. Pratt and wally are two of my favourites.

Yes i am but the truth stings doesnt it.

Didnt see too many people wearing arm bands so it goes to show that few people are out therre trying to make a difference and when we say cycling is a great sport, they say hwat about the chops cycling without helmets, talking on their cells and riding abreast. If you not in any of the above categories then you have nothing to worry about. If you are then please take up another sport like bowls. that way you can show off your shiny balls to everyone.

Which is why we wore black armbands on sunday!

I have just as many close calls with cyclists that are driving their cars as ordinary drivers.

Why sugar coat it? I did more for those cyclists than most of the people in the Argus did. Truth be told I really think the law should clamp down on cyclists for a change. Those bad drivers as i pointed out are cyclists themselves.

It was a good point upto the stage he made a stupid comment right at the end.

Nobody. Hell man. Think before just let fly with the emotions. It also got to me on Sunday how many people used cell phones, I even screamed at one of them, but dont make stupid comments here.

And there we have the voice of reason - quite right.

It's peoples attitudes that kill people not roadies...
