My buddy is looking for some profile wheels.

 

At around the 10 000 rand mark.

 

light would be preferable (carbon) but not a requirement.

 

A profile of at least 38mm + (the deeper the better)

 

Other than the mainstream brands (spinergy) what other models are available at that price range.

Anyway, you should get pretty good wheels for that price. There were a few advertised under the "Tech Shack" (I think). Token, Equinox and Pro-Lite comes to mind. Secondhad you should get Zipps.

It's the look i think more than the advantage - but for my mate so who know's

hehe... yeah I like the look of those deep section rims, but i'm not forking out 10k just coz it looks nice... there must be some benefit from deep section?

Hi too hot, i have purchased a pair of equinox full carbon wheels 50mm and they are really great and at a great price. I have seen them at Tony Impey cycles look really good and very light. They were going for R6900 a pair i think which is a really good price. Different types of profiles as well. I think they are a really good deal. And they are great to ride.

I took your advise and purchased a pair of the 50 mm Equinox dish wheels, S#$t these wheels are awsome! They run like the wind once you wind them up, I didn't think Dish wheels would make that much of a difference. I purchased them at TONY IMPEY CYCLES They are on special for the Tour de France @ R6,900-00 a set. Youre right, great deal and value.

Hmmmm, only problem I have with the equinox wheels is:

1) Trying to get info on them....even the guys at cyclelab can't tell me much

2) With this one has to ask what sort of backup there will be should you need it

The wheel sit self looks pretty well made with good finishing...........but I want to know how well these guys will back there product.

 

With the little information I have received from the guys stocking them I can't but help to think that it's a cheap imported wheel from Asia that the guys have huge markups on and still can sell for cheap.

 

I sure hope someone can tell us more about this product

Our warranty for all wheels is 1 year against manufacturer's defects. Eligibility for warranty is determined at the factory by the Equinox personnel. If a manufacturing problem is determined, a proof of purchase date will be requested from you and if you have returned the product within the first year, the policy is to repair or replace the product at no charge. Please keep your proof of purchase.

 

All Equinox products have an intended purpose, if the product is used outside of that purpose, it will not be warranted and Equinox cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur in the process. Examples of misuse include but are not limited to:

Mountain biking, tandem riding.

 

Our products simply are not designed to withstand the forces generated by these activities. If there are any questions regarding a product's fitfulness for use, email us; we will be glad to help.

 

If you are experiencing a problem with a Equinox product, please email us at equinox@iburst.co.za.Someone in customer service will be able to help you.

 

If it is deemed necessary to return your goods, to our factory for inspection you will be issued a return number. It is imperative for you to put this number on your box. After inspection and warranty determination we will perform the necessary repair or replacement. Should there be any cost to you, you will be notified prior to any repair being executed for your determination. If you decide that you do not want us to repair or replace the product, you will need to cover the cost of returning the product to you. If we do not receive a determination from you after 90 days from the receipt of your product at the factory, then the product becomes the property of Equinox. It will be destroyed - not re-sold.

 

In the case where your product is within the warranty period, but is damaged either by yourself or in a race accident, etc., we have a crash replacement policy. This policy covers a 2 year period following the purchase date of your product. You must register your product using the registration card attached to your wheels at purchase.

 

Providing you register the wheel purchase a new set of wheels will be offered to you at a greatly reduced price. The damaged wheels will then be destroyed.
