Bicycle Tool suppliers

Looking for a good supplier of bicycle tools (Western Cape or online).

Yes, I can try LBS, but most tend to want to do the work for you and don't stock many tools.

I have the basics (open ends, allen keys etc), now starting to look at the bicycle specifics (chain wear indicator, BB & freewheel tools etc).

Any suggestions?

Sounds odd, but I have bought most of my park tools from sportsmans wharehouse. they stock almost the complete range.

I also bought all my park tools from them, but they no longer seem to stock them.

In the Cape, Willie, City Cycles and Olympic stock most of the Park Tools, so try them.

Try www.chainreactioncycles.com They stock almost all brands including park Tools, Pedro's and Topeak. While you order also look at their brand-x grease guns. Works very well and cost about R40-00. Also order some consumables like Shock Oil, Hydraulic oil, brake pads or disk pads, chains(surf for this as they offer value packs of three chains at a reduced price), connector pins, BB's and headsets. The prices are good and way cheaper than in RSA. Combine your order with other cyclists and if you order I think more tha GBP450-00 your postage or shipping is free. You only pay VAT (14%) on arrival.

They also have a handy currency converter..... look in the upper right hand corner that gives all prices live in ZAR. I have purchased several times and had no problems.

Thanks Hendrik - that is what I wanted to know - I have also ordered from chainreaction before, but did not know how they compared to RSA prices for tools.

Nice that they have a currency converter; for sites that don't , I use the Change extension for Firefox - does conversions between various currencies and auto updates the rates from the net.

Sportsman's warehouse has a surprisingly good selection of Park Tools.

Otherwise BBB has some pretty good tools (I have their cable cutter, casette remover, and BB cup remover - no problems so far!). Most bike shops have a pretty good selection of BBB tools.

I wouldn't be too worried about ordering tools from your LBS either. In my experience, most of their $$$$$$$$$$ is made from sales. Services tend to be very low margin and altogether a pain in the ass for most LBSs...
