Video of some of the 2011 bikes. It seems that the new "Shova ST" is going to be a multi pivot bike almost like the Trek and not a single pivot.

More Wood thanks for that informative link!

There are a number of mtb manufacturers that will use Dave Weagle's patented Split Pivot concentric rear dropout pivot.

De Vinci is one, look here

I am interested in the geometry of the new Split Pivot "All mountain" bike(like the white prototype on the Vital mtb video link).

The current Shova has an effective top tube of 580mm for the Medium and 610mm for the Large.

That puts a number of average sized riders(like me) "in between" sizes.

I am hoping that the new bike's geometry will fill that gap!

Morewood seem to have the knack of getting the geometry and angles just right...........

Good link here

The rear tyre clearance under the curved seatstay brace of the protoype looks a bit marginal(and this may be deceiving as its just one photo angle) with those Fat Alberts (2.25's?) Mud will clog that gap up quick time. It may seem like nitpicking but it can literally ruin your ride if it gets wet/muddy.

Bikes that do well in the UK(mud island) all seem to have very generous rear tyre clearance....

I am a bit gutted that they did away with the single pivot. I was hoping to see what a 130-140mm travel Zula looked like. This bike does look the business and Dave Weagle is a legend when it comes to suspension designs.

I don't know whether all their single pivot bikes will still be available after the introduction of the prototype. Maybe it will just fill a "gap" in their line up?

I should direct that question to Patrick Morewood rather...

Re-tooling for their whole range of bikes would be very expensive.

Wish them great success with their new models!

Yes, that does seem inevitable seeing as the "Split Pivot" is a Dave Weagle licensed design.... I guess they'll have to fork out extra $$$ for every bike using it....

Just like Horst Link bikes in the good ol' USA have to pay Specialized for the privilege........
