Best MTB for 10k

Whats the best MTB that you can buy for 10k?

 

Is it better to go for a good frame and ok components/hubs etc and further upgrade over time or can you get something pretty decent for 10k stock

You can also get a Cannondale F4 for about R9000. Very nice bike and comes with a air shock(Big advantage in my mind).

I will never pay that price for something with just a Dart fork. I don't have a problem with the Deore but at least a Recon fork then.

Silverback Nabraska (about R9300.00), also has an air fork (Rock shox tora SL Solo Air 100mm L/O)

 

but other componants also better, such as XT RD, SLX crank etc.

If I had your ten grand, I would still buy my GT Avalanche 1 - 2009 model (should be able to buy this for around R6-6500) and then 'fork' over the balance for a good fork. I'm sure you could buy something really good for that R3500-4000.

Take a look at the Scott I have for sale... I'll be willing to drop to R10 000.
