....and then again if you under inflate your wheels, you get snake bites and punctures

Reg L,

There's a recommended inflation scale thingie, generally speaking.

The heavier rider must do less pressure than the lightie, even if the recommended bars are printed on the tyre.

Like a sliding scale.

I have the technical manual and it recommends 9.5bar for a 23' tyre :whistling: no mention of any weight in there

Ag wat, maybe it's just time for a fresh set.

Wear 'n tear.

I guess any wheelset has a life span, shortened or expanded under the conditions of its use...

No don't say "wear and tear" the insurance won't cover that ;)

If anyone is looking for spare Kysrium SL spokes (silver), I have 2 complete wheels full.

Have you oiled the nippels regularly as you should, otherwise you might struggle to get them out ;)

Eastons are the bomb proof wheel, reputedly.

My Easton's weren't bomb proof. 3 months old and < 1,000 Kms and rear spoke broke at the end of the Wellington ride last weekend.

Now have to wait and see if OmniCo can fix or replace them before the Argus. Pretty unhappy now, but will be seriously unhappy if they don't

If you do some web searches you'll find a slew of reports on Easton spokes breaking, especially 2011 models (which mine were).

Part of me wishing I'd gone Ksyrium's now - esp with some of the recent offer prices I've seen.

Uhm, ok...

Sorry to hear.

I use Ksyrium and experience no issues.

Thanks

I have to give kudos to Eugene at Helder Cycles and the guys at Omnico - broke rear wheel last Saturday, got them back fixed this Saturday. Very impressed they pulled the stops out to get them fixed, especially at probably one of their busiest times.
