Hey

I found the best way was to ride races. Roadies tend to not be very friendly when training, for some odd reason, but in races they NEED to ride in a group, so tend to help. Not always in the best way, but its a great place to learn.

Join 1 or 2 of the big club group rides on a Saturday or Sunday morning or if you really want to spend hours in a peloton sign up for one of the Jhb to Durban trips - 5 days 4 - 5 hours a day.

Can you give me a bit more info or where can I find out how it works

it hasn't started again yet but it generally runs through summer every wednesday evening at the Killarney race course. There's usually a fast group and slower group. Its basically a race where you ride laps around the circuit for 60 minutes. Its very fast (40-45km/h ave) and you'll be training at your peak heart rate.

More info will be posted up on the hub once it starts again.

You turn up, pay R20, collect your waffle and ride in the red zone for one hour. Try not to get dropped or crash. When you hear the bell ring, gear up to the purple zone. Finish, eat your waffle, head for the exit.

the PPA Tuesday nite session will suit you better. this should be starting soon. where in CT are you. there are plenty of friendly cycling clubs in CT northern and milnerton areas that'll ease you into the bunch.
