Preparing MTB for first race

So I'm doing my first event on Sunday (Logwood). What can I do to prepare the bike? I'm on a bit of a tight budget, but so far I have Slime Tubes which I still need to insert (no bucks for tubeless right now), I keep the bike well lubed, the gears need adjustment, which I'll try tonight.

 

Other than that I have some spare tubes, tyre lifters and a pump. What else should/could I get?

Dont do any major adjustments BEFORE a race. you're going to break something and have lots of heartache in the race. If its riding ok, leave it like that. tune it up after the race

Only the slime thing. Never leave home without them. Forget about tubeless unless you get the rims. If the bike is working now, there is a pretty good chance it will be working race day.

Don't listen to Mampara....when you've got the bucks, get a Stan's tubeless kit. One of the best upgrades you'll evermake!

Good call - will pick up bombs & a tool tomorrow. Tubeless conversion will come later - cashflow is a problem these days.
