Hi Guys

I got a friend who is currently looking to upgrade from HT to FS. His budget is max 10K, which limits things a bit but I think its still possible. What suggestions would you have for him ? Preferably a new bike, but 2nd hand would also be considered.

Don't have any suggestions, but if you / he buys a 2nd hand full-sus, just make sure not to buy a bike that did too much distance, especially if it has air shocks. Air shocks need seal replacements etc. every few thousand km's, and possibly even stanchion replacements after longer use. That can be very pricey!

Rudi all shocks need seals and regular servicing, Regardless if they are air or springloaded. Some tend to say that Fox needs more regular servicing that Rox Shocks, And finding people that will service Manitou is almost impossible you can almost never find spare parts etc.

Rule of thumb when you buy a second hand bike is immediatly take it for a full service,

Clean headset, BB, Run new cables, bleed the brakes, service the fork true wheels, service hubs, etc.

Rule of thumb for anything secondhand is to be prepared to spend some money on it. Will save you some tears later on!!
