is Chappies open to cyclists?

I heard on 567 that chappies will be closed for the next month. but will we be able to cycle over it?  ifso what is the road surface like?

I saw that they removed the fencing at the top when I went up yesterday, but I didn't ride over. I'll check this evening if I ride.

Would that be the "rock catching" fencing? Or is the road completely fenced off to all traffic?

Chappies is only open from the Hout Bay side, you can cycle to the top and no further. There is a number in the telephone book under chapmans peak you call the information number.
