WR 1.0 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hi, I have a set of Mavic Cosmic Carbone's. Is it possible to stop the rear wheel from sounding like a reel run with the ratched swithced on, while you are free wheeling?I like the wheels but can't seem to get over that sound. Seems like a trait of Mavic wheels? Thanks in advance.

Mongoose! Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) You should hear my Carbon Vuelta's Loudest wheel on the road. I love the sound. The whole bunch can hear it! The guys on Zipp's ect. I now enjoy sneaking up behind competitors...the element of surprise!!

Harry Potter Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 The noise is awful, but you irritate the hell out of the fellow cyclists and this can be an advantage, if a cyclist is irritated and the wind blows and he can’t stay on your wheel, Hay they sometimes just give up.

You shouldn't sneak up behind the elderly, you might give them heart failure.
