Hi Guys, Just returned froma short visit to Sun City.

Have the sign placement been finalised?

Taking everyones input into account and bearing in mind the limited number, I have looked at areas with high volumes of cyclists as a starting point.

 

1.Lynnwood road in direction Boschkop (just before Silverlakes entrance)

2.Corner Hans Strydom and Garsfontein direction R21

3.Eeufees rd toward Iscor

4.Moloto road at Zambesi intersection

5.Zambesi toward Kolonade (after N1 intersection)

6.Botha ave direction Kloofsig (just past fountains entrance)

7.Botha ave at N1 intersection (direction Fountains)

8.Nellmapius road (at intersection Old Irene road) direction Cornwall Hill

 

This is the final placement of the initial 8 signs

 

I have tried to accomodate routes used by most of the larger Pta clubs as well as individual cyclists.

 

By making sure that signs are placed on these routes I'm also hoping to get the clubs and bike shops using these routes to come on board with sponsoring a sign or three.

 

As previously mentioned this is not a one day game and I am committed to trying to get more up in Pta area asap.

Just a thought, why don't we start collecting toll fees from cyclists that use these Cycle Safe Routes and use the funds to purchase more signs?

Evan jy het vergeet van die pad uit verby Onderspoort na Rossylyn,  daar word gereeld wedrenne daar gehou(BMW Roete) asook die Rooiwal sirkel roete daar is elke naweek mense wat daar oefen en gereeld wedrenne ook

The reality is that 8 signs don't go far, those areas are on my list and believe me when I say that I will make a serious effort to get signs there, speak to your club about a buck or two for signs and it could just happen so much faster
