thanks caad4 having fun getting down to the last .2mm laterally and .5mm radially. The Park Tools Pro stand is a pleasure to use, and lacing the wheels went quickly. The whole process is intuitive (to me anyway) ZTR lightweight rims are said to be a bit tricky to perfect in terms of truing, they both have a slight kink at the weld which I can live with, its minor.

I did get some tape in but its 25mm, might even just take a slice off. Ron's and Ralphs have arrived thanks to prompt service from CWC, hoping to put the finished product thru its paces at Groenies this weekend.

I got some at the lab a while ago, bought three there and then cause you never know when they will get again, if I am not mistaken I think they were 20 or 30 bucks a pop

Thanks I gave The Lab a call and they said they had stock, so I mission out there as one does in the hell that is Joburg traffic - there is one roll on the shelf, not quite what I expected label, says 21mm but clearly only about 12mm wide, after I persuaded the guy helping me that this was the case, he went to check for stock elsewhere came back empty handed but then gave (sold) me a roll of 3m tape out a tubeless conversion kit. This was 19mm wide so I took it, I assume it will do the job (?) not quite the same as Stans tape, feels a bit thicker. The 3m tape is red 3m logo on white tape. Web trawling reveals nothing.

I see on Stan' web site that Greenwall Imports cc in Brooklyn Square Pta are listed as local an agent, will give them a call 2morrow as well. Keen on getting the right stuff, that 3M tape doesn't plik like Stans.

Phoned agents in PE listed on No Toobs web site, referred me to any lbs, after a few calls managed to persuade Linden Cycles to part with a roll of 21mm tape for R100 a pop but at least I am sorted now

I need a roll of 21mm wide Stan's yellow Rim Tape, any pointers to a retail off-the-shelf source in Jhb area?

Thanks

Well my good man, you are in luck. I did all the leg work for you. Unfortunately for us it is the Great Yellow Tape Depression. Had the same problems yesterday. FPC Paulshof has a couple of rolls left. Give them a buzz and ask them to keep it for you.

Cheers

Edit: R160/roll Good enough for 5 x 26" or 4 x 29er. The 10 yard roll. Not the cheapest of stuff.
