The Hub should fine you when you post an ad for your bike and -

You lie about the year model of your bike (we all have Google)

You don't include a price (unless you are giving it to me for free)

You don't include a picture (your own)

You try and sell it for retail price (we shop around)

You say it is BRAND NEW but has only done X km or been ridden X times

And of course, if you don't include the size and your location

That is why I started selling my stuff in Junkmail . Not a bunch of wise asses trying fail the sale . Hit rate is much higher and stuff sell .

Yes, better to screw people over on Junkmail, they don't google to check if the 2010 model you are selling is really a 2010 model

Agree 100% dirt-rider.... too many "experts" around here who go out of their way to post **** on one's sale.

I've sold a number of things through the Hub...the last was a bike that left here 10 minutes ago.

Yes, there have been some odd comments (like the numbnuts who questioned how I could ask R1,000 for an 80'sish Eddy Merckx when he bought a brand new bike for R1,000...in 1988), and some diversions (like a discussion on stereo speakers), but that's the fun of the Hub.

Photograph your stuff, describe it accurately, price it right and it will sell. And you might even get to have some fun along the way.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

my ultimate favourite (hair on back of my neck standing up) question "why are you selling?"

FFS, do you actually think someone selling an item is going to reply "because it's crap" to a question as dumb as that...

Alternatively, just ignore all the sales that don't included the 'required' information and it won't stress you out? You don't need 10 ppl who aren't remotely interested in an ad asking for pics and never looking at the ad again. If you are interested, PM the guy and I am sure he will give you all the info you need...

Sometimes I'm sitting at work, get a brainwave that I need to get rid of something, and quickly post an ad (without pics :o )... If someone contacts me and is interested, I will send them more info as soon as I have a chance.

If someone's price is too high then politely explain that it is too high and why - preferably without spending hours tracking down a bike shop having a sale on that product in South-Eastern Russia and posting a link to it!

I have only recently started viewing the Hub. I think most people are genuinely knowledgable and helpful. I bought a good quality trainer 2nd hand; I didn't want to spend a fortune on a new one and didn't want entry level. The comments from others regarding the make, model and price were postive which convinced me to buy - no regrets and a win win for the seller and myself. Life is too short to be bitter.

typical response from a known **** stirrer

..its simple Dude, if you dont like the comments then go elsewhere. This thread was covered previously.

Get a life.

As mentioned by Rickb33...Life is too short to be bitter.

I've worked it out.

It's OK. You can 'fess up. We're all friends here.
