Newest Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Was just wondering if my crank length is correct. Would 170mm work better for me? When my bike fit was done, the computer said 170mm, whereas LBS was of the opinion I will climb better with 172.5!? Height 1.72m, Crank length = 172.5

Its not just about your height, but also about your leg length and if you want to get complicated, the ratio of thigh bone to shin bone length... Was the set up computer at the bike shop?Maybe the shop doesn't have a 170mm crank and is just telling you that so he doesnt have to swap it? Newest Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Road Bike.In actual fact the bike was not bought from the LBS.I have the 172.5 on my bike and the LBS would have been eager to sell me the 170mm to get a bit more out of the deal, which was obviously not the case.The setup was based on computerised measurements.

wisecrack Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 1.89m Road=175 I have a long inseam. When I climb the 175 seems perfect for more leverage ,but when I'm going b@lls to the wall on the flats it seems the slightly longer crank length does not help my cadence.
