When someone starts to makes a meaningful impact, the old guard get jelous and arranges their removal. Very similiar to the present goverment.

Here we go again! I hate people with agendas and egos with a passion. Just get on with the task at hand and in the best interest of Cycling!

Latrinus is the only approachable person at CSA.

EWEP... THIS IS MY COMMITMENT TO YOU....

What can I do ?

I will contact all the people on the HUB who have a good inside knowledge on CSA matters (not dirt, but the rules and so on)to PM me with what they think we can do

Groot Lem is chair of Boland Cycling etc. I will PERSONALLY Approach my club in WP - HARMONY, the one with the most members and go through the official steps and procedures to get a vote of NO CONFIDENCE or whatever it takes.

So, give me time, The buck stops here!!!!!!!!!!

CSA, SACF has always been riddled with people who have nothing but themselves at heart.

Its a pitty that people who actually try and make a difference keep getting ousted by the others who do jack sh*t.

Sylvia Dale is another person who gets way to much flack from the two idiots in charge. I know she has had many run ins with people involved in cycling, but I would love to see how the two idiots would cope without her around.

The cyclists have long said that cycling needs a completely new face. LW and DB are certainly not what I had in mind. As long as you have people who do not understand cycling you will always have a semi proffesional sport in South Africa run by a bunch of amatures.

ek/ons  staan natuurlik by MR Coo

Morning all

What a load of BULL.

First question goes directly to Carinus- Please inform this audience if you have been called in and had this topic discussed with you by the board.

If not I propose all the affiliates and PPA as well as GPPA chairpersons be called upon to pass a vote of no confidence in the current CSA board.

It is a matter of getting 75% of the affiliates of CSA to notify the secretary of CSA that a special general meeting should be called for within 21working days of receipt of the notification to specifically deal with a vote of no confidence in the CSA board.

You would need to convince the other affiliates of this action as the results thereof can be detrimental or successful to cycling in this country.

All the provinces details appear on the CSA website for circulation.

Carinus we await your reply.

Some points to consider:

If we do a vote of non confidence we might have a very upset SASCOC and riders dear to my heart might be influenced badly - Cherise close to all you as well - SASCOC might feel that cycling is in a really bad state etc and keep them out of teams.

We have 6 months till the next meeting and selections - we need to keep Carinus just where he is - and it seems that the boss might have heard about our little discussions here and changed his mind.

We need to start planning to get the right people at the top.

Positions that will need to be filled will be the president, Vice (who according to the constitution has to come from PPA), Road Commissioner, Track Commissioner. We need to get the 2 top people who cares about the riders and not just the funrides - the road and track commissior needs to know what to do - plan a year - plan 5 years / know how training works and understand the cycles of cycling -  Track - we need a lot!! WE are not going anywhere on track.

I also think that maybe these people need to be paid a little -then we can expect them to do the job and if they don't they can get fired - as they would like to do with Carinus. That board should be able to take better control of the office - if they not doing the job then they need to appoint the people who not just work their - they live for cycling!!

I don't want to start a campaign - but my 'dream board' at the moment:

PRESIDENT - Eugene Ruiters (he has contacts up to the government and will get the moneys from privates as well as convince the right people to get more govenment support) - and our federation will look more 'balanced'.

VICE - president - Giovanni (from Central Gauteng) / Dave Bellairs (cPT)

COO - Carinus Lemmer

ROAD - Barry Austin - yes we are related

MTB / BMX - Mike Bradley (Kzn)

TRACK - James Lauter - he is so pasionate about the track - he will make it happen - he is young - he understands the needs and have been there.

PUBLIC RELATIONS and RIDERS Commission - McLean & Hunter

Sue me, shoot me - but these people will actually do the job and knows how to do it.

and peeps wonder why i am not willing to get a CSA licence of any sort with those $%^&*s in charge? if there is anything that i as a mere cyclist who loves 2 wheels can do (signing a petition or whatever) let me know. Carinus has been our only hope of getting our sport back on track. we can NOT afford to lose him now.

Breeze, thanks for all this.

We should not worry if CSA is informed that the cyclist is upset. Thats what we need, we need them to open their eyes and realise.

We are not trying to get people fired because we don't like them, We need people in those positions that CARE ABOUT THE SPORT and the development of cycling in SA.

Nothing else, its is not just another job, it should be those guys passion and commitment.

We need people who will kill for the sport, people who will stand up and talk to us, the cyclist and asked us what we need and what we don't agree on.

Looking at Dave Bellairs - I have to say that I was kinda impressed to see him at races - including the Selati tour (on a bike) - him and Carinus are becoming involved with the riders and interact - and that is what we need from our future board - people who is hands-on - who the riders can trust

Posted

Dave Bellairs was only there because he got a free ride, and it was fun to do the Selati (others payed more than R 6000 per person to be there) same thing at the Panorama tour.

They were there because it was a freebie and to to see if they could make money out of the races, no other reason...

If there's nothing in it for Dave, he won't be there!!!!

He doesn't care about the riders, he ONLY cares about his pocket!!!

mallo, (thanks for calling me this morning to ask me to state the case)

i do not really want to participate in this discussion, and would most prefer were this discussion to fizzle out a bit, and that the powers and systems in cycling address whatever issues there are....

my coo position came up for review, yes, after the president asked to me resign.

he asked me to resign without stating reasons - subsequently, in an sms, he alluded to his reasons.

amongst those reasons i saw no point in accepting an offer to resign, since it did not seems as if i was in breach of anything...(i am on a limited term contract till may 2008)...

so....after a week or more of suspense/concern, i received another letter asking for an appointment with me, lw, and db....(and possibly sylvia)

i have nothing further to report,  on this matter, and must remind you that i am appointed to help wherever i can, introduce the online etc IT system, support the board, and be seen at events...

let's get this topic to fizzle out a bit - and as soon as i may - i'll post an update....

(finally: wrt your collective concerns regarding the status quo at csa, or anything you might be unhappy with, why not try work from club to province to csa, to see whether those concerns can be addressed.....i guess a set of constructive letters outlining various issues would be best)

pm or email me for private thoughts....
