Dave Bellairs was only there because he got a free ride' date=' and it was fun to do the Selati (others payed more than R 6000 per person to be there) same thing at the Panorama tour.

They were there because it was a freebie and to to see if they could make money out of the races, no other reason...

If there's nothing in it for Dave, he won't be there!!!!

He doesn't care about the riders, he ONLY cares about his pocket!!!

point taken - my point is that LW does not even except any freebees - he was suppose to go to worlds - had his ticket booked etc - fancy hotel and then pulled out and send sylvia in his place along with Dave. he is not even representing our country at the UCI - so why is he there - carinus is doing his job and just when he does not agree with what is beign done - then the job comes up for review - what I am saying is that dave is there - free or not - but LW does not even pitch.

I also did not see LW at the track champs this year - i wasn't at the road champs as I was already in Europe - but I don't even know if he was there.  He is unfortunately the most uninvolved of the uninvolved officials as he does not have the time being a lawyer and that is our (the provinces) fault - we voted him in - we also voted Dave in - so if we, the cyclists, do not want people there we need to stand up for ourselves and those who does not have the b@lls. We let the province chairmans etc just decide what they think cause we also do not want to be involved. the funriding community will want dave there he gives them good events. that is actually how I gathered it - he is a PPA representative and the constitution states that one of them needs to be there.  Quite frankly - the choices were, dave, giovanni (think it was Klein at that point) and who else?

How can I forget the major bugger up with the junior worlds - I don't want to start the whole thing of again - but in the end he had to make the disicions - and he waited till the last minute. I started a plan in March already to make this happen.  It will stay a bugger-up untill WE change it.

I might not have the right ethics approach and my english is more englikaans - but I will speak out about the bugger-ups the past couple of years - the new board promised us a change from the old folks - to me it is almost worse. I will stand up for all the juniors and under 23s whose futures in cycling is on the line - cause the federation has such a big influence on it.  If all the other countries that faces the same situations as us - AUS, USA, UK NZ - they are also far away - but they set their best 24 riders up in EU -they take them to the racing - and properly plan it and get the right people there to do the job. They even pay their riders to make sure they are loyal to the federation.

Lawrence Mbeki- the clever one not in contact with people on the ground

Rasta Zuma- the naughty one thats got contact with the normal people

Re mr Bellairs. He needs a position as sponsor getter. He's got moerse connections with sponsors. Part of the reason he went to SElati was to ride with Jacques, the dude from MTN, as they are getting more involved with sponsoring of cycling. We need someone at CSA to look after the sponsors and I think he is the best. He is the ouk thats been looking after Pick n Pay for all the years. And i dont think he gets what the soccer guys gets. But if he gets a freebee at a race to ride with a major sponsor then its good. REmember 180, the SElati organisers also puts money into SA cycling, why cant they invite a few VIP types? I also rode on a freebee, were in discussions to have a similar tour in the Boland area and the best times to talk is after the 1st botle of red. But we paid our own flights, accomodation, and liquor. But i also paid my own flights to Bloem for road SA's as chairman of our province, so if I get a free entry its not a problem for me. A bit off the point, but just wanted to defend that pink vice a bit.

How do you people find the service from the office, do you think we need changes there? (this is thin ice)

Let me just say that if I ever treated a customer of Pick 'n Pay (my place of employement) the way they treated me, Mr. Ackerman would personally take a interest in having me fired on the spot...

Hi Guys

Please open this site read and If you feel you can make a difference, please make a contribution.

Please, keep it to why you don't have any trust anymore in CSA or what you think should be done to improve Cycling in SA.

Do not slander or post "hearsay" , stay to that what is the issues:

like:

You do not see transformation in Management

Dont feel the right people sit in the right positions to take cycling forward

Team selections - worlds - The SA TT and Road Champion that was not selected

The selectors issues on ladies team selection to world

Why is it that the only province in SA (WPCA and PPA) is still represented by 2 bodies at CSA .

I hope you all stand together and do something about this.

Regards

defnitly mike bradly for mtB!!has done so much for sa mtb

I've spent a great deal of time this year racing mountain bikes all over the country and mixing with many, many mountain bikers, elite and fellow middle-of-the-field riders. I'd like to know exactly what Mike Bradley has done for MTB because nobody seems very happy with the guy.

MONTHLY LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

(03 OCTOBER 2007)

As many of you will know, I have been in Greece on holiday over the last 3 weeks and I can thoroughly recommend the Greek Islands for cycling! However, I was most dismayed and disappointed at the complete debacle around the selection of our teams for the World Championships, in my absence. I fail to understand how the selection process can have gone so completely skewed bearing in mind we have a complete set of instructions on how our Commissions and selection panels are supposed to work. As so often is the case, it seems some folk only resort to the instructions "when all else fails". Apologies are definitely owing to the cycling fraternity at large as well as certain individuals. The only mitigating thing I can say is that at this juncture CSA is still in a state of transition, moving from what was a fairly secretive and dictatorial organization into a transparent and democratic one. We have introduced a lot more people into the system and they are still finding their feet and mistakes are being made. Remember however that most of our people are volunteers doing all of this for the love of the sport. We have at this stage only a very small full-time staff. We are moving quickly, perhaps too quickly at times and this can exacerbate the matter. I believe however that in the not too distant future the Organisation will have settled down and you will all see great improvements.

Turning to more positive issues, I am delighted to advise that the roll-out of our new compulsory licensing system for all is proceeding well. I am informed that from entries to the Cape Argus/Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour we have harvested in excess of 16 000 CSA recreational single event licences which translates to 16 000 additional people we can correspond with and hopefully convert to full on cyclists who genuinely see themselves as members of CSA. At the same time we have accrued not far short of R400 000 from this exercise although I stress the funds are not yet to hand. All of this is surely good news indeed!

On the subject of the licensing system, I feel the need to combat rumours which abound by stating categorically that we are committed to setting up a system which is not aligned to any particular Event or Organisation and which does not interfere with current timing methods used in the Provinces nor seeks to grant any monopolies. We are indeed hopeful that our licensing system can and will be expanded to a complete management system for not only our Provinces but also their Clubs, the idea being that Clubs are at the centre of what we do and we must support them and help them to gain as many members as they can.

Enjoy your cycling over the next month.

Regards

I am a Mountie and have been for some time...infact captained the Elite marathon squad on two campaigns...Been through a few SAMBA committies and had a few issues, however rather normal ones that were easily resolved...

The issues we have had with Mike Bradley are legal ones in which instance both cases were settled very quickly by our friend Bradley....not so cool ...anyone saying Bradley is good for moutainbiking clearly does not mountain bike, or is being taken care of the MTB fun rides thinking Bradley is behind them...very wrong.

I speak to mountain bikers daily and the top ones,,I race every Drifter and all the stage races and there is most certainly a big dislikeing to our friend Mr Bradley...
