Cheating - start them young!

At the BSG kiddies triathlon this morning I saw parents teach their children to start cheating early on. Maybe it's not a BIG thing to help your little one by grabbing his bike over the barrier in the transision area to allow him to carry on running straight away while others have to park their bikes properly. Possibly all they wanted to do is get that bike out to leave early. Either way, those same parents would scream blue murder if it happens while they are participating themselves in the grown up race. Come on, you are teaching them that it is OK to cheat and that can only lead to disaster!

Parents probably the people who give their timing chips to others who are faster than them!

Kids should have been DQ'd for not following rules and regulations of a triathlon event. Big or small the rules apply to them all. It would have been a bad day for the parents as they assisted their child in cheating and would be blamed for the non-result. That, my friend, is what should be taught from small, the lesson that cheating gets you nowhere!
