And, a view from Maritime Squadron Hill (be alert - once one passes the naval base, the gradient rises dramatically for about 150 meters to the top) :

Looks like you guys has a great time, I am so envious, stuck at work :(

Yeah, Spat, it was lekka out there.

See you maybe next time, man.

Will ride intomorrow over the neck and up suikerbossie to town as a bit of a consolation, nowhere near all the fun hills that you guys did though.

Airbender you gonna kill this season with all the quality rides you been doing

What was your pace like and what kind of time did you guys so for the route, was it relaxed and easy ?

Hi Spat...will have to let AirB answer that one, as i had to be at work by 09h30 in town and thus continued onto Westlake from Simonstown missing out on Naval and OuKaapse...had 27.8km ave. for 75km's when I finished on my Garmin. Some riding was leisurely and some was macho bull riding :D :D !

Damn I could have done that with you, did not even think of that as option.

Did you drive from Westlake?

So you did Boys Drive , Black Hill , Slangkop , back.

Think my route into town over the neck and Suikerbossie will be similar to that maybe if I throw in coming over Kloof neck that would be decent climb prep

Yep, that's the route I took (back over the otherside of Boyes). Said cheers to the guys at the foot of Naval. Yeah, I did drive into town from Westlake.

Thanx, Spat.

It will make a difference.

Training with lekka guys makes the sufferfests so much easier as well.

It was real tempo training - hard segments and mellow bits.

But the heat of the day really came pouring on in the final hour going up Black Hill and O K W.

Around 3h15ish was completion of the route - excluding one technical stop and a water/Coke/garage stop...
