Seems like this forum has its fair share of stirrers...and tiete highjackers. Funny, just what one needs when stuck at work still.

Look, I'm not a cyclist (and my pie to dump ratio needs some work too) and don't know what is accepted practice in road-manners in SA, but the guy had an open lane to himself and quite obviously pushed them. I think the cyclists were bunched up at the robot and spread out to probably 2 abreast on pulling away perhaps 25m from the lights going green, but they kept to the side of the road and were not in any way impeding this guy from passing.

I have driven on German roads and in the UK, so my perspective might be skewed, but SA drivers have no respect for other road users and seeing this got my blood boiling.

then what you doing on a cycling forum? dont you know we operate like a cult and dont accept visitors from outside the compound who may spread the secret to life only the selected few who were chosen may know about? :D

It is always practical. What is not practical is groups of 40. It should be 10 maybe 15 at the most.

I agree with you on this, the big groups are uncontrollable and it is guaranteed to irritate fellow road user.

Pity this thread, which highlights the plight of cyclists on our roads, has been highjacked and turned into another "I hate your guts/I'm a bigger smart Alec ;)" willy swinging competition.

"Hope to win friends and Influence people".... Cyclists(hubbers) are quite good with the latter. Pity it tends to be negative and not positive but still need to discover how to be friends with each other, never mind with non-cyclists.

This thread has been turned into something rather senseless, and stripped of all value.

Pity, really!

I was asking myself the same question.

What has become quite obvious is that he has a problem, he suffers from an obsessive compulsive disorder.

He argues with all and sundry, pick fights left righ and centre, sends threats via pm. and he is still here

If he actually brought some positive contribution to this forum , I could understand why ADMIN would allow him to stay, but he is here, causes many arguments and then turns this against the person he picked a fight with, invariably it gets so bad that the thread gets locked , people get rapped over the knuckles, he behaves for a while till his obsession takes over and BOOM, we have the same scenario all over again, when will he be stopped, never I guess, because behind his keyboard, he is invincible.

My apologies for hi-jacking your thread.

Maybe this hi-jack could teach us something about the guy in the Polo. TheG. You mentioned this guy caused trouble and then stopped and still wanted to pick a fight and felt totally self justified. Don't you think this is a sickness that is becoming more and more prevalent in SA. We get miffed because others irritate us and then we try and take them out and when we do wrong in doing that we get an attitude of stuff you. I don't see this kind of thing in the 1st world nearly as much as I do in SA, but I cannot put my finger on it as to why we have become like that as a nation.

Is it that we are so full of pride that we cannot accept being wrong?

And her body language says she is majorly pissed off with him. If i were these guys i would simply lay a charge of reckless endagerment against this SOB

was probaly figthing before the incident with the cyclists, and then tried to take his anger and frustrations out on cyclists with his car. Why is it that people think they are superior to anything and everybody else in their cars?

Well a past time in EL is the Opel and VW brigade going past as close and as fast as they can. One oke was brave enough to stop to confront us, got a nice flattie from me. Not the brightest thing to do, but the knob deserved it.

A flat nose or a flat hand? :)

Generally people tend to judge others with a different set of criteria to what they judge themselves.

We are never as bad or do things as badly as the other person does things.
