SwissVan Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Yeah the single pivot design and RP23 work pretty well together and the only complaint that I would make if I had to complain...would be that there is some "bob" when pedaling on smooth surfaces, hardly noticeably even if you are a finely tuned racing machine... I compare it to my other bike (Specialized S Works with Fox Brain rear shock) and the Specz is just like a hard tail on smooth surfaces.

If you go http://www.morewoodbikes.com/bikes/xc-marathon/zula/ and wait for the second pic, blue and black frame alone, you will notice its a rs

There's only place for one Monarch on mine and thats me
Warrior Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Hmmmmmm... my Zula definetly has a Bob function even in Pro pedal, I've seen it when riding uphill on smooth roads. I'm running the previous model (2008/9) RP23 on my Zula. Definitely have much less bob on climbs and when standing up than 2 of my friends with the new RP23 Boostvalve shock (2009/10) on Propedal. Have heard of some guys who actually modify and bypass the boostavlve to make the shock firmer.
DMD 1 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Ok, so now it makes for Morewoods: me, Dirt-rider, Rouxtjie, DMD 1, SwissVan and counting.....If truth be told I mostly ride with the propedal active. Only go to fully open when it is lumpy and bumpy. On the Hillcrest upper single track it is always open. When I switched from the full lock out PR2 to the Propedal RP23 it took me some time to get used to it and now I would not go back. I find the RP23 more forgiving as there is always some suspension avaliable for those unexpected moments. One of my mates had a RP23 and switched to a full lock out as he prefers a harder ride. Its the same guy who sold Rouxtjie his trusty new steed.

You can tell Gogga it's loving it new home Think he got a new custom paint job zula yes? Would love to see pics of that Hijack-off
TitusTi Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Depends on the suspension design, a decent design would allow it to be fullly active all the time, if you have to rely on the pro pedal settings then that smacks of a not so good design.
Mackie Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Do you Morewood okes need some alone time? Open cos I dont want to get over a koppie and forget the damn thing on stiff, I am a heavy bugger I need all the travel I can get going downhill.

Your never alone when on a Morewood...and you will only forget it once or twice...then evolution will take over. Pro pedal on the RP23 does not lock out, I spend most of the time riding in Pro pedal and never have to worry about forgetting to unlock.
DawieO Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Zula + RP23 fpr me also. Climb with it OPEN except when the surface is really smooth.
Vinnydabutcher Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I have the RP2 on my Zula and I only close it on drags - to eliminate bobing. Still working on a better pedalstroke. Steep or technical climbs I leave it open for traction.
