Build yourself a set of wheels with Hope/XT/XTR/A2Z hubs and Stan's rims.

Agree. And with brass nipples. If you are after light weight go Stans, if you're not too weight concious, WTB Laserdisc is also a very good rim.

Get some spez Fastrak tires or sililar and save 200g on tires alone...crossmarks are bombproof, but heavy and grip is iffy.

 

The rear tyre has already been replaced with a GEAX. The front will be raplced soon.

I weigh 105kgs and the Cobalts have never flinched, and I dont have much finesse when bombing through rock gardens servicing and oiling the hub takes 5 mins, and no special tools needed, if you have a chain whip and lock ring spanner you set.
