Sean it's not good seeing fellow Telkom members smiling at a binned bike all the more reasons for me to sell my road bike and ride dirt, but then you get hijacked catch 22 situation if you ask me let us know if we can help with something.

Hey from me too glad  Willie is alright.  Must say its a very tricky bit of road even without a truck trying to take you out.

Motovia are the dudes that transport cars/trucks etc all over the country, its their car park you see on teh right on the way to the airport after Olifantsfontein.  one would think their drivers would be a cut above the rest...guess not

I have spoken to my friend and he will most definitely participate in this discussion soon.  The help offered is incredibly appreciated. He is at the police station at the moment. Apparently now the truck driver claims he did nothing wrong. He claims my friend rode in front of him and he could not avoid hitting him. I guess the driver forgot the small unimportant detail where the public saw him driving off with someone hanging from the window. It porbably just slipped his mind

Perhaps another angle to approach. Contact the Automotive companies who use Motorvia particularly Toyota and VW. These are Motorvia's largest customers. Toyota are now a title sponsor in the Cape Epic and I know the guy at VW at the top who is "responsible" for handling Motorvia, is a cyclist.

Merv from Germiston Wheelers went down this morning.

Has head fractures, facial lacerations. not sure what the prognoses is, await news from his wife who is with him at hospital.

 

He hit some diesel on the road and came down. So all you out there, watch out on the wet roads. PLEASE
