Hi

Just bought a wetsuit for IM yesterday and REALLY want to check this thing out on the coming weekend!!!

Anybody know where I can swim in Jozi / or are there a bunch of you hubbers that do some open water swimming every now and then?

Please let me know, will be keen to ride afterwards. MTB or Road, whatever suits the area better.

Thanks!

Rudi

I did the BSG event in Germisten. It was a cold and windy day. I nearly threw up after the swim. The water was disgusting.....

But ja, I live in Joburg and is also looking for a place to train for open water swimming....

Rudi, there is an open water event in Bethlehem this weekend if you feel like driving.... check the internet (ndorfin's website)

if you think germiston was bad you should have seen potch 2009! they had dropped the water level to fix the dam wall it was a mudfest of note! Garfield one thing to remember is water doesnt have to be clear to be safe to swim in! and the opposite is true too just becasue water is clear/sparkling doesnt make it safe, IMO i would rather swim in water that gets tested regulary than water that just looks clean, i cant think of any other place to have an open swim in the JHB area unless you want to travel south down to the vaal but then boats become an issue
