Not only does it get muddy underneath' date=' but it takes a lot of skill to reach down and grab it as I'm almost kissing my handlebars when I do. I've only ever tried it at Northern Farm or when I am on tar. I perfer to keep my teeth intact. Wink

You can keep the mud off the drinking part of the water bottle with one of those covers they put on towbar electrical plugs. They seem to cover most bottle ends, but they do make it a mission to have a drink though.

And if anyone uses this tip for Bicyclings rider to rider tips, I want the shoes.

Saw those GIANT ones at SMWH, covers seem a bit flimsy and don't 'clip' so lekker.

Anyone has experience with them? They are even useful when it's just dusty as opposed to full on mud!

Look at Cape Union Mart. They have all sorts of those with the caps. I think even Camelback.

if it's the same camelbak bottle i've got, it doesn't fit in a bottle cage!

Problem isn't only keeping the nozzle clean. If you pick up the bottle the mud is then transferred to your gloves.

Had a nasty encounter with the cow gunk at Northern Farm. Dead

my friend rides a AM3000 large fram and has one of those "side entry" cages, he can fit the 750ml bottle in it easy. the normal "entry" bottle doesnt really work.

I also had to use a BBB side mount cage on my SL - worked well.
