Dear Agony Hubbers

Its my first TB...hooked up with some monsters though - they clocked 11hrs last year. I've done 3 x DC's; Sani2C; W2W; K2C - but this race seems super far compared to those! I expect to get wet from the river crossings etc - does anyone advise taking a change of clothing en route? Is this practical? Maybe put some dry stuff on at a checkpoint?

Sterkte aan almal wat gaan ry!....eish, eendag as ek groot is... :(

In my geval, eendag as ek kleiner is. Sal nie hierdie dik lyf oor daai berge kry nie. Miskien volgende jaar. Ek het n paar pele wat dit gaan doen vir die eerste keer, en hulle het nogal baie ure in gesit.

Respect to all participants for the hours put in thus far. Almost there ...

I guess each to his own, but last year we had one change of clothing at Checkpoint 4. Dressed fresh and warm for the Big Dipper. We sent our lights to #3 as we were on a 18hr plan and knew that we would hit #3 at about 4/5 'o clock. Sure, you can send clothing to more checkpoints and have it with your support too...Finished in just under 17 hours but this year will definately be a longer haul, not close to the same fitness(or lack of).

I have plenty of spare clothing, you never know just in case.

I always put on a complete new set of clothing at Berg-plaas, its such a spoil at that point.

I am facinated with the fresh clothes at Bergplaas thing. If you're at Bergplaas, the worst is over. Relatively speaking it's downhill from there! :D

So glad I am not alone. After Sunday's ride I was ready to give up cycling!

For the fast guys it's 3 hours from Bergplaas, and for the slower guys it can be upwards of 6 hours. That's a long time to sit in soggy shorts and wet feet.
