So typical, and by the way since the previous heated debate concerning skipping red lights I no longer do it, red light means stops for vehicles and bikes.

Ignorance or macho-ness?????

Silly. Did I ever say I only ever ride mtb without a helmet? Instead of ignorant and macho, I was being honest. As in, yes, on occassion I am guilty of riding without a helmet. I don't make a habit of it, but I have done it.

I am yet to see a roadie stop at a traffic light. I can honestly not remember if I have ever seen one.

Most just cruise on through, apparently something to do with it lowering their average speed

Come and ride with me. Why do you think I can not find a group to ride with. By the time we get to the 3rd traffic light I'm 5 minutes behind. I must say Esmero club behaved themself this weekend. I sat on their wheels on Ontdekkers on Sunday and there were only 1 or two light where they creeped through while the crossing light were changing to red.

'Jip de Jager' is the funniest street name I've heard today.

Don't worry - they are looking at changing Jip de Jager Street to Dulcie September Street! Dulcie September grew up and was educated in Athlone. She was murdered on 29 March 1988 whilst in exile in Paris.
