TT frames are stiffer and are designed to be used with TT bars where your elbows rest on the bars so they have a shorter top tube and steeper angle on the seat post.

They're also designed to be more aerodynamic in themselves (which is why the rear wheel is usually tucked in close to the frame). This is because they are designed to be used in non-drafting events.

it generally accepted that TT rigs are heavier with all the wheels and wider frames.... but some bikes like THE black pearl and the canondale slice are coming in below 8kg. that is less than MOST average road bikes. BUT comes with a HEAVY price tag!!!
