looking to go from hardtail to fs, at first i thought something really mean with 150-160 travel, but wanna still do long trails.....

was looking at the commencals, and giant trance x1(i think), basically those sort of thing, they all between 18 & 20k, but found a cannondale rush 3 and now i am super confused, don't know if the rush is worth its price compared to the rest!? (can get it for 22)

would like to know what other people think, or some other brand or shops i must check out??

I think it is "which", made that mistake a couple of times.  Otherwise it will have to be black with stars and moons painted on it.  It will most probably have a broomstick zipped tied to the top tube. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

On a more serious note.  Scott Genius is in the same travel range.   Mervin (Centurion) has a special on Reign 6? travel (old stock).

Jchain, if you are around the Sabie/Nelspruit area, and depending on what kind of riding you do. A big travel bike would a lot of fun. The COMMENCAL Meta 5.5 climbs very well, and is fantastic when you descend. The slack head angle and the geometry of the frame makes it a fantastic tool for single tracks. Great for doing XC riding (Unless you want to win the race), but when you want to have more fun, you have more than sufficient travel to take it on.

The Meta 5.5.2 which is the middle of the range weights in at 13Kgs, which is pretty good for a 5.5" travel bike.

Do yourself a favour and ride a Meta 5.5, it is a fantastic bike. You won't be sorry.

The best advice I heard is to pick a brand / colour and then in that look for the bike you like. In general all the manufacturers cover all the basis.

Personally I like the Specialized brand, but that is just me.
