I am looking at buying a bike stand, want to spend up to R2000.00. Anybody have one that costs around that? What make/model do you have? What do you think of it?

The 2 leg stand on the Park Tool PSC10 doesn't look too steady to me  http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=12702

Anybody tried this? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=21388

Above links are CRC but it is probably worth buying locally because of the Duty and VAT on tools.

I have the psc10 stand and it is great. Very stable. Look on Bucycle.co.za for pricing.

Do yourself a favour and get the Topeak one

Really great stand, folds up small and has a carry case, all the adjustments are butter smooth and versatile, it just oozes quality.

Just note it doesnt come with the weight scale or the other tool trays but you can buy them seperately.

I dont think I paid any more than the usual 14% (15?) tax on it ... I think that only applies to clothing and helmets!?

Also got Park Tools one similar to what you are looking at, works well, stable, but bit gawky in terms of storage.

ps stand without upper tube made a good rocket launcher for New Years

I know they are good, just wondering about the duty. Did you get the tool tray?

Let me know what the total cost is.

Thanks

I purchased the Feedback Sports stand from CRC. No duties just VAT.

Then you could also make this one yourself for R150-00. You can make the "top tube" shorter. I service Tandems on it and they are stable just by hanging. Bungee cords can be used to make ithe bike more secure is BB work is done.

Do you have plans for a bicycle frame? Why stop at the stand ;)
