Whats the story? Why are road cyclists so unfriendly? Is it an image thing? Or because i'm ....a mtbiker?

Went for an early morning ride with a mate on the road with our MTB's, passed most probably 50 guys on road bikes, not one greeted, past 4 on MTB's and the all said howzit.

I have seen this question a few times, and what I do not understand is why anyone SHOULD greet....they do not know me and I do not know them?

When I walk into a supermarket I do not greet everyone...even if I have seen them there before and just because we are both shopping or both riding bicycles why do we have to greet each other?

I am also just asking?

Fair comment!

I'll give you another prime example then...riding up kloof neck in Cape Town with my MTB on Wednesday, decide to have a breather near the top, the only people to stop to ask if i was ok (i was) where the MTBikers, the road guys rode past on their own mission.

very sad - do you stay in CT as I recall an earlier post complained about CT cyclists ;) . In the west rand we greet each other - brothers / sisters for life bud

Explains all the crooked teeth and bowed legs

Roadies are like BMW drivers...you should know that

BTW a roadie can not assist a MTB biker, they have no idea what Tubeless is and their tube are way to thin for a MTB anyway..... :)

Excuse me! Do I take my road bike on your mountain bike trails? Why do Mtbers think they can muscle in on our roads and still expect effusive greetings? You're just cluttering our "track" with those lunky things, and then we have to overtake. The least you could do is ride on the pavement.

Fuuny enough, I am a preferred Roadie and can say the same on the MTB'ers. Even when I am on the MTB, the MTB'ers do not grret eaither, so make peace with it.

It has nothing to do with Road or MTB'ers, but with the person on the bike.

Grow up on this please!!
