If he gets a new fork, I'll eat my helmet.

I expect that there are websites out there featuring this kind of super-flexible self-pleasuring.

The Hub, sir, is not one of them!

I don't understand the issue here. Fork seals are not warrantee items and I don't think it is fair to expect a new fork if a seal fails. Am I missing your point?

Johan I agree that certain fork components are not something that manufacturers can warranty, but I believe that A. The history of this particular model, and B. The distance covered, are good reason for the complainant to discuss this seriously with the manufacturer/agent.

* HA.

Well done Corrie. Johan, I hope it's not a Giro Zen 'cause you are going to have some EXTRA munching to do.

Now lets hope all the muppets going on about a FuZsic GOBI take a lesson from the positive action of this thread !

An apparently far-too-obscure attempt to inject some dodgy humour around the "eat my helmet" promise.

Clearly not my best work.

As you were.

I now get it but I wish I didn't. I may not sleep tonight.

Howdy.

I ride a 2011 merida 96.

It is an awesome machine and really enjoy riding it.

This past weekend i went to groen kloof and attacked the rock garden section with

a lot of speed, after doing my second lap i noticed a lot of dust collecting on the left

side of my Magura Durin 100 shock.

I cant recall ever noticing this on any of my previous bikes shocks both rock shox.

Is this a problem or normal ?

Shock has done about 50hrs and is setup according to my weight and manufacturers specs.

Anything to be worried about

My GF and I also hit Groenkloof on Sunday and after the ride I also noticed the brand new FOX on my Anthem and especially the Suntour on her bike was dirtier than normal... They looked a lot like the the fork in the picture.

3 dirty forks, same time period, same venue and at least 2 different riding styles... Might there be something more to it? Maybe that new big snake they released in the grass there has something to do with it :P

Myself and Frosty dropped or Magura's off at Epic sports today, for shock assessment (Rather nice bike shop)

So we shall see from here..

1 repaired under warranty, the other repaired for R250 (considering it had 200 hours use)

Awesome service from Corrie (the agent), and from Epic Sports

Same fork, new seals... all replaced under warranty.

Guys and girls it is simple.

If you ride Magura and you support you local agent and your LBS we will go out of our way to help you.

Yes CRC will be cheaper, but they do not have to keep stock of every part for backup in SA. Try to send your product to them and see what it will cost you.

Magura products are definately not the cheapest on the market but they have the best back up service availible in the industry.

We go Magura at least once a year to be sure that we are up to speed on how they do things.

Every case has merits. Be honest in your dealings and stick to what the manufacturer recomend and state. Be sure we will help you as best as possible.

Thank you for the positive feed back from the people that used our sevices.

We look forward to a long and prosperous future with you.

It seems that he didn't get a new fork, but it was sorted admirably well - so, Johan does not have to eat his helmet, perhaps just give it a light nibble on the strap!?
