And what do you know, I got my picture in the Ride magazine where they explained the skills to ride a steep hill.

 

Funny enough, they explained exactly what I did there and even with little grip, lots of small loose 'Katot' rocks and in my smallest (22/32) gear I made it up there without falling over.

 

For those of you wondering, Yes, my front wheel was at a 90 degree angle at that stage and I saved it. This was the steep hill (13.3% slope) right after WP1 on the Cape Pioneer.

 

And while all this was going on I was overtaken by a snail and an earth worm...
