Hub stickers somewhere would be first prize, but as I mentioned before in the absence of that why not consider writing our hub names down our legs with face paint. C'mon some other suggestions chaps....

J riders .... sorry to burst your bubble here but the law of averages and stats ain't on your side.....wind or no wind........in order to get the times you are looking for, you will need to donate a kidney or more.

Take a look at J groups ave. finishing times for the last couple of years.

2010 - winning time 3h26m

2009 - 3h58m winning

2008 - 3h01m winning....after first 20 riders, ave. time increase dramatically

2007 - 3h04m winning....after first 20 riders ave. time increase dramatically

But hey you guys are top 20 right ? And good luck anyway.

Leave us to out hopes and dreams, no need to state the obvious that it will be tough.

Thanks for the research headhunter. Interesting numbers....

Not too sure about the other guys here in J but I did a 3:05 Argus in 2005 and have a few other sub 3:30 rides. This will be my 11th Argus. My seeding has slipped because I've spent the past 2 years riding with my mother who has taken up cycling at 64 and ridden some events with her over that time. Obviously training changed from the harder stuff to more laid back, but working my way back up to the sharp end of the field. Hence the previous statement of not being too concerned with time, as I doubt there'll be a sub 3 effort in the J group, but if we ride smart together we can get a decent time and an ENJOYABLE ride! No reason to think 3:15 or under is unrealistic. (If I can stick to the training program.... Woke up with a sore throat this morning and had to bail on the 3 hour hard ride I had planned. Gargled cayenne pepper and took it somewhat easy in on the shorter commute. Will have to see what transpires.)

There's always one... :) let's see what sort of hideous death I undergo up Vissershok on Saturday, and we'll revisit my expectations next week! But for now 3:15, no wind, no punctures, and endless stamina...

Off to the doc today. Throat is toast. Hope it doesn't drill my training.

How's it going with the rest of the J group??

Have a lekka ride to those doing the 99'er!

Hi J group,

Why do'nt you all drop back to K so that I can join the fun?

Ha Ha - enjoy it

Regards

Sarge

Why not time trial the first 20 kays and catch us??

Seen some crazy efforts from chaps in previous years who must be imagining they are on le tour or something, riding across groups.
