  1. I have a confirmed entry for 2027. Deposit paid. Looking for partner. I am a 57 year old male based in Cape Town, not a racing snake, but not a tortoise either. And, to share entry costs.
  2. April fools..
  3. I am a 57 year old male based in the Western Cape planning to tackle the Cape Epic in 2027. I already have an entry secured. If you're up for the challenge and looking to partner with a medium paced rider, ideally (but not an absolute must) in the same age range, willing to make the training commitment then let me know. Entry costs to be shared.
  4. Hi Brooksie - have a look at https://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/
  5. RIP Fellow cyclist.
  6. Where can one get a copy of the route maps and profile ?
  7. I did it in 2016. It was hard. 2024 is very similar with some tweaks but fundamentally the same route.
  8. I love the trails on the Tygerberg MTB network. We have a fantastic ever growing and evolving network of trails that are properly maintained. Thank you Patrick and his trail gnomes for the fantastic work that you do. Patrick’s weekly pen is a tongue in cheek update, imho, and I have always read it as such. Keep on doing what you do Patrick and team.

  10. Registered to do the 60km but diverted to 45km because of heat. It was brutal but fun!
  11. Eat properly and ride a hell of alot more!
  12. happies to Hout Bay, then either Constantia Nek into Constantia, down Spaanschemat and back over Ou Kaapse Weg or over Suikerbossie into Sea Point and back, both around 50km. Depends on time and how much you like climbing, but the scenery on both routes is awesome.and the Constantia Nek descent is great fun if you like that sort of thing...
  13. Find it one must. Alternately go crazy.. one will!

  16. AndyDude - are you riding the EPIC next year ?
  17. Hi Bobby I only recently started riding Jonkershoek - only 3 months ago in fact, including the Eden and Coetzenburg areas. Stellenbosch must be one of the most beautiful areas anywhere in the world and I feel truly privileged to be able to ride these trails. It would really be a travesty if Jonkerhoek should be closed and I sincerely hope an amicable conclusion is reached and the necessary funds are found. Thanks for all your personal efforts to build a network of trails in Stellenbosch and hope that sanity prevails. Cheers A fellow mtb'er.
  18. whats the elevation for the 50 miler?
