In 9 years of cycling I have lost one bottle during the Argus. Actually stopped and picked it up and continued.

In the event of being at the back of the group and there is nobody in close proximity, I will actually kick a bottle off the road if I see it, hopefully saving the skin of a few people still due to pass there on their bicycles.

Being seeded fairly far back on the FastOne, I had a few instances of having my front teeth almost removed when passing slower riders who have this intense need to display to every one around them that they are about to drink from their bottle. Please people, its your drink ... keep it and your arms and hands to yourself. No need to wave it around while cycling among other cyclists.

Or did you just give up and role around?

I was busy trying to find mampara, cause someone on this thread is sure to use the term camelbag, when they actually may be referring to another hydration system.

Road cones ...... just as bad!!!! they can take your head off

You're barking mad!

For one thing, road cones have a hole at the top, so they're no good for carrying refreshments.

Secondly, they're much too big to fit in a bidon cage.

Honestly, I think you're making stuff up.

average human being.. raised with less than average exposure to concept of awareness of other needs of other human beings.. 90% of the human race.

Thats why I ride at the back! Ten to twenty minutes off the back! Of any given race group on any given race day!

That way I stay safe. And happy. And upright.

But why is it that every-time I near the finish mats some dude is always busy lifting them up? Am I supposed to like ramp over them to get a finishing time?
