Wyatt Earp Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 My analytical mind has a lot of issues to deal with, it's not easy. But I am planning to meet them half-way. I am first going to try just a 29er front wheel in a rigid fork.And you worry about head angles and BB height ?

Guest Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Stop being such a big baby I find the thread interesting & informative as I'm thinking of doing the same move at the end of the year and value the casual rider's opinion more than the sponsored rider who gets paid to endorse products. I find it most fascinating too, and at least there are many threads with the same question/content now. It's what makes an average forum awesome. Not surprising that it's so debatable, at the end of the day it's who has got the biggest rim is the coolest, bestest.

No one is saying hand in your Trance X. Why not keep it and ride it on terrain more suited to it and the 29er when you feel that will be suitable? I love my 5 inch travel 26er, but also enjoy my 29er HT on certain terrain too. I certainly would not buy a 26 inch HT again.

I certainly would not buy a 26 inch HT again.90% of the riding i do in the cape is rocky, technical stuff like jonkershoek, tokai etc So i havent felt the need for a niner yet but some of the races i enter i suppose a 29inch hardatil would be nice if it makes me go faster, or makes downhills easier etc, whats the verdict on a ful susser 29inch??
