but the name still bothers me. tumbleweed - sound like something that can get you off balance if you smoke it....Big%20smile

then you're gonna hate his full name:

simaxdal (the breeder) utah (naming protocol demanded his name start with "u") tumbleweed (she was gonna called tulpen, but there was only one bitch in the litter and she'd been promised to the producers of a kiddies tv show).

Diwali is BIG here.

It is "The festivle of Lights", and the people light up their houses, and in the evening set lamps on the streets in front of their houses.

I am looking forward to Thursday night's procession through the streets of our small town. Last year there were 75 groups of about 30 people , all dressed up in traditional costume and carrying lamps and lights, with music and drums and chanting.  I followed them about on my bike to cut through the crowds .

At Diwali there was  not one cracker to be heard anywhere. The crackers are reserved for New Year when hundreds of tonnes are  ingnited leaving the streets red with paper from the fireworks.

The crackers are set off in strings, Last year one was over 300 metre long.

The guys are going nuts with the fireworks where i am. I also don't seem to get it. They make a big bang, so whoop de doo.  I have my own theory about the size of the fireworks making up for "other" areas that are perhaps lacking on their anatomy. They will probably go to bed tonight and dream about hauling next years load of fireworks in their new Hummers.
