Here's my take on why I would like to ride over bloody cyclists: I was on my bike coming back past Jeppe Quondam in Bedfordview last Sunday when I observed three cyclists idling along (probably at their top speed) hogging the whole road with a line of cars stuck behind them. The cars could not pass due to oncoming traffic, so after some while and some hooting these tossers finally gave enough space for the cars to squeeze past. By this time I had caught up and as I passed, they moved out again, forcing me to overtake on the wrong side of the road.

****ing idiots.

And there are people here who don't understand why motorists hate cyclists and condone this sort of behaviour!?

I definitely share your sentiment regading cyclists acting as idiots (Won't run them over though  ) and I will definitely have some choice words stored up for an intimate conversation. These riders are not representative of me and my cycling habits.

Send the pic to MTN, give them hell and get these guys in line.

Wonder about the idjut playing with his camera when he is supposed to have control of his car

Hi, this is not aimed at you so please dont react but I'm a cyclist and sorry to say but the driver is absolutely spot on here.

Often on club rides I cringe cause cycling is a social sport and people get chatting but forget where they are and drift on their rides.

Then there's 3-abreast and the marshalls should to get the message through but to no avail.

Some poeple are inconsiderate, like shoppers who park their trolleys in the middle of shopping aisles, they honestly don't know they're idiots and are oblivious they're doing any wrong

First caption that comes to mind is: Anyone for bowling!?

come roadies tell me: why do y'all bunch up like that anyways? some technical reason or just to blah blah within earshot of each other?

but i'm loving the backlash against the OPs first post. Interesting to see the personalities at work..

Bowling, ha ha nice one

About the personalaties at work, you took what was on my mind and politely and politically worded it

I don't want to ride over them in my car. But leave some 29er tread marks on them, I would.

It's been said before: cyclists are their own worst enemies.

Fixed

I never argued against the fact that these cyclists are stupid, my problem is that when I looked at the pics I saw a motorist fiddling with a camera in an already risky situation (idiot cyclist ahead)....

Maybe i should start taking pics of motorists on their cells phones

Why don't you take pictures of cyclists on their cellphones......or fiddling with their ipods.....

or scratching their.......

Preferably after they have fallen on their a/*ses, just to increase humor factor.

So roadies wonder why they're hated?

Tensions between (road) cyclists and motorists are not improving, and the negative effects are felt by all of us. I've tried to be accommodating and respectful of both sides (roadie and motorist) over the years, but it's quite honestly getting ridiculous. It makes motorists presume I'm a chop just for riding a bike. Not cool.

So here we go: I have decided to flip to a zero tolerance attitude. If you're a roadie, I will ride up next to you on my MTB and 1) tell you you're a @#$ing idiot 2) possibly try to smack you on the back of your helmet 3) push you off the road, if:

1) You jump a red light. I don't care if there's no traffic, you wait.

2) You jump a stop street. Once again I don't care if there's no traffic, you stop.

3) You don't ride single-file. I don't care how much of a TDF wannabe you are, and how much your PowerTap tells you you're scoring by slipstreaming. You don't hold up traffic.

Stop being monkeys.

Oh, so it couldn't have been the passenger handling the camera?

Never ceases to amaze me how most falls are caused by an idiot fiddling or looking around

That water bottle is connected by a wire to the handlebars

i dont think mtn would do anything about these idiots but some one said they are from club 100 so if that is correct them maybe club 100 should do something about their members

hmmm, you've got a point. I sometimes stop at a red light then go if I dont see any cars and I know that's gotta change if I want to earn the respect of motorists.

All it takes is a small handful of both motorists and cyclists to act like arses and the animosity thickens. We're in SA and I cant see the motorists changing any time soon so why don't we brush up on our cycling manners and have less cycling accidents and less road rage directed at us

Please, did you smoke your oaties? Typical idiot cyclist mentality to once again blame the motorist. The cyclists are in the wrong, and these guys are the reason why motorists hate us so much.

Ironic actually, the clubs stand for safety and all that crap, i'd probably be safer on my own instead of with these dumwits.
