  1. It was good meeting and chatting to you en-route. We had a lekker time rolling with your group between the support zones 😃
  4. Some of my club mates did a ride to Rooiels at the end of October which seemed to go fine.
  5. It took me to a nice view of our mountain this morning ☺️
  6. Okay, no worries. They don't need to test, I can tell them it works 🤣 Only irritation is that they insist on not using external cadence sensors but only from the trainer, which is is only a guestimate Anyways, back to the OP's topic now
  7. Where do you see that? I have been using my wheel on Tacx Vortex without any issues on Mywhoosh, connected via ANT+ or Bluetooth. I just see a list of recommended trainers on their site...
  8. I've been using a Forza strap from Takealot for quite a while now and have not had issues. Much cheaper than the genuine Garmin strap https://www.takealot.com/forza-premium-heart-rate-monitor-strap-replacement/PLID73131454
  9. I would guess it is because they have watched Top Gun too many times and feel the "need for speed" too much 😆
  10. I see Evobikes has them on their website, perhaps drop Janos an email. https://evobikes.co.za/product-category/components/road-bike-parts/r-brakes/?swoof=1&pa_manufacturer=swissstop&really_curr_tax=361-product_cat
  11. Mine works fine - ANT+ dongle in laptop and picks up the HRM first time. Haven't tried casting HR from my watch as it is not necessary. Dalk is dit daai OPPO foon van jou wat nie ANT+ doen nie? My minor irritation currently is that mywhoosh does not pick up and use my Garmin cadence sensor as they apparently only support power&cadence from the trainer. So I have to live with what my trainer thinks my cadence is.
  12. Another thumbs up for Extreme lights - the connector on my one light's battery pack has been giving connection issues recently. Popped in to the shop today, technician had a look and replaced the battery cable. 15mins in and out, no mess, no fuss, just good service
  13. Tour de Addo has come across my feed once or twice. Not a race, but it seems a nice experience if that is your kind of thing (and you have the budget) https://tourdeaddo.com/
  14. I haven't been down there in a month or three, but when I last rode it it was still quite ridable although some parts have become somewhat eroded and "ridden out" as there is not much maintenance being done. No concern about overgrowth, probably as most of the route is used by walkers and runners too.
  15. Got this on one of my Whatsapp groups last night: 10 April 2024 at approximately 18:40 two cyclists’ cycle on the Helshoogte road between Niel Ellis and The Ridge, direction The Ridge. The front cyclist spotted 2 c/m that looks very suspicious. The one suspect then took out a firearm and cocked it. The cyclist immediately turned around and warned the other cyclist to also turn around and they then sped off in the direction of Niel Ellis. The suspects then also disappeared into the veld next to the road. Description of the suspects: 2 x c/m one armed with a firearm. The one suspect was wearing a red and black beanie with a red and black long-sleeved top. The other suspect was wearing a red and black beanie mostly red. Please be vigilant in the area.
