  1. Nice. I didn't know. That. Because on there website it doesn't show. Found yot by chance when I went to buy my dad an 530
  2. Cyclelab in Lynnwood had about 3 edge 830 bundles for 5999. Last week. I got one for my dad. And the 530 bundle is 5999. So if anyone is interested. I don't have funds to buy it. So I'm gonna skip this deal. PS. It's a very good deal. But it is in house
  3. I'm 1.63 and on a 29" medium frame.
  4. So we went riding to the school and back. To see. His sister went with. They did 12km total. Was a bit of walking from his sister. But he did very good. They will be riding to school in Jan.
  5. More weight. Maybe your saddle dropped a bit and now you are pressing differently. Also if your shoe becomes very soft at the bottom your door can twist a little. Try new shoes first. If not try the fit option. Then doc. I would do it that way. You can even try some other normal shoes you have to ride with that sit Comfortable.
  6. What shoes did you get. Because my flippers needs an extra wide.
  7. Don't. I cut my arm off 10 years ago. It's never the same without that nerve. My hand goes haywire sometimes. Even though I have full use. Rather live with the little discomfort
  8. The other option is keep it simple and rather look for a used dual sus. Although I don't mind hardtail
  9. https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-deore-m6100-12-spd-upgrade-kit. Would this be the lower level 1x12
  10. So the current 22t upfront with the largest on the back is to easy for me. I can comfortably go up to 3. Weight advantage. So maybe 34. 40 is more than enough. Speed peddling. I am doing the amashova with my day next year( never done that much) but I believe you can still do well with an mtb. Or I can just look for a cheap road bike to do that and trainer. I do prefer mtb. Want to think about tonteldoos or Karoo Burn The year after. I'd I csn fit the time to train. But work will make it difficult. I would like to go up to atleast equavalent of trailseeker 70km races and obviously the easier slower ride with my son
  11. S HI. I have questions. How do I now if my bike can go to 1x12? Also how will it affect top end? I currently have a Silverback sola 4 2016. It has 3x9. It showing wear in the front cogs and chain is warn. It's time for the 3rs one. My logs mileage on garmin is 3000km. So do I stick to the 3x9 or upgrade later. It's not there yet but I'm foreseeing it will need attention in the near future. My budget is tight.
  12. OK so we going strong. We had our first fall today. Loose sand can be very deceptive
  13. I recently joined. Just finished 25km free trail Friday. Did my ftp also. I'm using a saris m2 that I got from here second hamd. I'm using a cheap Chinese brand slick Tyre I installed on mtd rims I got a few years ago. In the beginning it was odd to use the setup. Speed and power felt wrong. Then i played with the power factor setting. And ended up at 100% aka max power. And it works good for me. It's not the same as riding outside. But what is does do is get me to push harder. Because I'm very very competitive. So in that sense I works well for me. Because I stay 30km out of pta Nad not clubs or any tracks close to me. And if you just ride on your own. You don't push yourself vs riding in a group. U got it to cast to my TV via a cheap cast device. Since TV box to laggy. It works good enough. It take getting used to. And I will still rather do outside. Also my tab s5e is ant compatible so I can add all my garmin sensors.
  14. Hi all. So I'm debating commuting to work. I have a 24km ride to work and back. I live outside pta. On the northern side. I also do physical work. Electrical and security systems. And sometimes work late. I was looking at for example the marvel commuter. Which is an e bike. To go to work and back. I can on the days I finish earlier ride home and then the next day back to the place my guys start at. 2 things: one it's not the best Rd (old Warmbaths Rd) but I can go next to the Rd for most of the distance but not the whole distance. Next to train tracks it's safer for traffic. Bit then crime wise not so much. And I don't want to armed all the time. Any inputs.
  15. The gear shift also seems a bit far. He needs to push it alot. I will look for a Shimano one when I got funds and the brakes I think need new levers also the seem to wobble. But he does reach them fine. I check and adjust
  16. So installed a computer to measure speed amd distance. So now he can see how far he goes when I'm not done. I need to do some ground work at home. I'm guessing I can do 3-5km of single track at home. Problem is the time to do it. I will maybe just clear up the horse trails for now ( they seem to be able to squeeze through impossible places
  17. My grandfather made me ride under an umbrella with water running over the top. And he gave you that first push. So you learnt to get through or swim.
  18. Yeah makes you forget the troubles they cause
  19. I changed the shifter to click type. But a cheap one. I want to look for a decent one. It pushes hard. I'm letting him learn gears from day one. It's tough now but I'm coaching him as we go on the flats. But it's basically 1/6
  20. Were along way from carbon
  21. You think it's worth giving him garmin. I'm looking at changing from my 500 to something newer maybe.
  22. 🤣
  23. So sussie het saam gery. But got tired after 3km so we dropped her amd went for 7
  24. I live close to pta north branch and Lynnwood seems to be useless. I always have problems in store
