  1. I know squat about sports training etc. So I will consider a professional if I get there (doubt it, this is fun for me I got enough stressful work) but I would much rather look at the one with experience in the job than the one with a paper and attitude. I'm in the electrical and security industry, I have 22 years experience but almost nothing on paper. Im still getting my qualifications done. And I got " master" on paper in the industry calling me to help them solve problems. So Id I have to choose between bakkies Botha or the guy that can't even throw a tennis ball. I'm gonna be reluctant. You do need some experience in your industry if you are a teacher. If you have been teaching under someone else yes. Then you have experience aka skill. But if you just have a piece of paper. That means squat.
  2. Maybe it's how you said it not what. Would it not have been better to ask that tell?
  3. I got an LG fridge for less than half price an better than black Friday it was a demo. And if I look at the average of like 20% discount on prices inflated by100% a few months before. I wholly
  4. It's good to see dads spending family time. If you got pictures and stories about Dads and kids. I'm not gonna complain. It's maybe a good thing. We need to make mor etime for family

  11. Problem is they say at the solomons cycles that I shouldn't use them with the new aluminum rims. It apparently damaged two bikes they sold. So I'm avoiding that. His first bike 12" had them it was bliss. But then tubes l And the headache of fixing punctures will teach him to chose his lines better. I think the perm tubes made him lazy in that regard

  13. So I decided to stick to Tyre liner and fug it in the tube. To much effort getting it seated. Maybe when I get a big compressor again I will try.
  14. This i agree. Look at that guy who ran the other day Benoni i think Swart was his name. He got a "opgeskorte vonis". I stay near Rooiwal. Where Pretoria guys like to do a loop circuit here. And it's amazing how entitled Cyclists have become. Over the years. When I was young cyclists had to respect the rules of the road. Now they beat you up if you tell them to do this. Or swear at you. I hope the person gets caught. I would like to meat someone like this on the road.
  15. So currently the bike is standing we couldn't ride weekend was raining to much. I'm gonna have to get tracks going in the farm. He's getting 10 punctures a day riding through sekelbos. Bike is 3 weeks old and 2 tubes. So I'm trying to convert to tubeless. But work and broken cars are keeping me busy this week.
  16. No worries. I'm not doing this to push him. I was never pushed or will push. I do my own racing ( I'm only at 20km average) so I ride with him at his pace then go do my own thing afterwards. I just believe he can do 10km easy. But will stay at that. Until he wants to do more
  17. Amen to that. It's the one thing I can with him easily. I work long hours as a tradesman and your time is already squeezed
  18. Hello fellow cyclists. I want to start a tread with me and my sons cycling journey. He turned 8 31 Oct. And thanks to bike hub classifieds I could get him a good condition Titan hades 20" bike. I have serviced it and fixed a few things. I have gone on 3 rides with him and he's really keen on Racing. He's already done up to 7km and wasn't tired wanted to do more. So I'm thinking to take him up to 10km. Do one or two races amd see how it goes from there. PS I'm also abit out of shape. Only started recently after being off since lock down. Here is a photo of him with his new bike on the first day wa sat Buffelsdrift.
