  1. Walker Bay Adventures seem to cater for everything, anyone have experience? Looking at doing some diving along with MTB riding and maybe a bit of paragliding.
  2. Cool, bringing your bike with? I believe Grabouw is very good and sort of half way?
  3. Presume you can ride them anytime on your own......we are from JHB and don't do 5.45 unless it it pm!!!
  4. Groups are.......16.15 and 17.30, to be clear. Don't want to miss you again or you'll never get that tyre!!!!
  5. Thanks guys for all the feedback, will pop in and see the guys at Euodia Adventures to check out the trails up the Hemel en Aarde valley, i believe they have maps etc.
  6. I think so! The other thread seems to have been canned!
  7. OK, here we go again......now play nice children! I want to ride so this is what I am doing and anyone is welcome to pitch and join in. Bring a light for the 17.30 ride. 16.15 RIDE: meeting at Fratelli's, cnr Conrad & Hillcrest, Blairgowrie. (leaving 16.30 & returning 17.30 to join up with the 17.30 gang.) 17.30 RIDE: meeting at Fratelli's, cnr Conrad & Hillcrest, Blairgowrie. (leaving 17.45 & returning before 20.00 for pizza and beer with anyone who wants to stay.) No lists, groups, gangs, snakes, rubber or lycra required....just pitch up and ride! I'll be the Irishman on a Pyga.
  8. Thanks for that, will contact Euodia.
  9. IRide, do you know anything about mtb trails in and around the Hermanus area?
  10. Will be around Hermanus for a couple of weeks from the 16th Dec 2012 and am looking to hook up with other MTB riders in the area and find out about routes and trails. I've read a couple of threads and it seems to be Hermanus Cycle Club and Euodia Cycles that are the ones to talk to. I also believe that I should try Grabouw and Fernkloof? Any other advice or ideas would be very welcome and helpful. Also looking for somewhere descent to stay overnight around Graaf-Reinet on the way down from JHB? Cheers, Norm
  11. Good one Arête, maybe put it on the Pizza & Beer ride so people can see the route.
  12. Shane and I tried to move that branch last night but just too heavy! Need someone with a chain saw to help us out.
  13. No, it is a sealed bearing in a press fit cup and the Pyga took a drop in bearing! The bottom section of the head tube needs to be big enough to take the press fit cup which has the 1.5 bearing in it, hence is bigger than 1.5"!
  14. I have the bottom section of a 1.5 inset Chris King that would not fit my Pyga if its any use to you.
  15. Agreed, we were riding round and round waiting for it to get dark before hitting the hills in Alberts and the night time section is the best!
  16. Arete, nice to meet you yesterday and had a great ride even though I landed us in it! Good ride with no crashes, punctures or ripped tyres.......see what a group of 29ers can do! Would be nice to see the route if you can post it on here.
  17. I would suggest a confirmation list at the top of the post and that we stipulate that the 4.15 ride leaves at 4.30 and the 5.30 ride leaves at 5.45 or even 5.45 for 6 as it was still light by the time we were doing our second lap of Alberts. I'm sure Maxxis can work out how to do a list we can access in the post.
  18. Ok, ok, I'll take it on the chin since I suppose I was the most regular of the group, with 1.5 rides under my belt! As Arête says, we waited from 5.15 to 5.40 and then headed up the usual route with 1.5 laps of Emmerentia and 1.5 laps of Alberts and back to Frats for beer and pizza. Missed the text message from Mags, sorry again, I know what it's like! Great ride with Ross joining us until we left Emmerentia and then Arête(new), Shane(new) and myself pushing on throu the night round Alberts and back. Hopefully all the broken bikes and people will be up and running by next week again.
  19. just a thought, can we do a first page list where you can add your name if you are riding that day and at which time you will join 4.15 or 5.30? Maybe a 4.30 list and a 5.30 list?
  20. I'll be there at 4.15 and my Kiwi mate will join at 5.30......both on 29er!!!!!
  21. Mags, I'll bring that extra tyre for you today.
  22. See, not BIG enough to roll over those little rocks!
  23. Have new big wheel/tyre, tubeless this time, and have been practicing my bunny hops, so hopefully no more blow outs!! Anyway, last ride was 2x26er flats to 1x29er, if I'm not wrong???
